Trends from the Trenches for the month of September. We talk about video and still photography. There are some very important announcements.
In our News and Reviews we compare the Canon 5DS R to the new Sony a7RII and look at how they compare for shooting stills (40 mega pixel vs 50 mega pixel). We have a sneak peak at the Dynalite Baja B6, a 600 watt second lithium battery,50% more powerful and battery portable. We look at Ninja Assassin from Atomos,a great HD recorder that is light and affordable.
Atomos has introduced a new 4K Recorder that will open the door wide for 4K. The Shogun is a great recording device but expensive. The new Ninja Assassin by Atomos has stripped away the things that you can do without, like SDI recording, and left you with a great 7 inch monitor that will record 4K to the A7s and the Panasonic GH4. I have heard it’s under 1500 dollars.
Syrp is just about to release the Genie Mini as an addition to it’s family of motion control devices but I got my hands on one early to test it out and share with all of you. I have had the opportunity to use the Mini by itself and with the full-size Genie for a dozen or more time lapse photography shoots in the past few weeks and I was really impressed with the outcome.
Today on the Slanted Lens, we’re going to review the new tripod by Vanguard. It’s a 265CB VEO tripod. It’s a travel tripod and it’s a really great product. So let’s take a look at some of the features. The height is 15.38 inches when it’s folded up. That makes this a really easy tripod […]
