Hi everyone! We’re really excited to be partnering with a photo tour company in 2017! We’re headed to Uluru. Check out the itinerary below!
Uluru (Ayers Rock) Vivid Sydney Light Festival Photo Tour 2017, June 6 – June 18
Day 1 Arrive at Uluru Airport, transportation to accommodation at the Outback Pioneer Lodge Voyages Resort. After checking in, FREE time to wander around the resort before meeting in the foyer at 7pm.
Meets for drinks and snacks to discuss the upcoming photo tour with Andrew Wilson (Tour Photographer) and guest U.S Photographers Jay P. Morgan and Jeff Cable. (Drinks & Nibbles)
Day 2 Sunrise shoot at the rock
Breakfast at the Ininti Café at the Uluru Cultural Centre
Pick up mountain bikes from Outback cycling at the Cultural Centre for an amazing 3-hour ride around this magical wonder and experience the true rugged outback.
Lunch at the Ininti Café before heading back to our accommodation to rest up with a swim or a bit of shopping.
Sunset shoot from resort dune which is about a 10 min walk from resort and then enjoy a few drinks before a photography workshop session on how to shoot Star trails with Uluru as the silhouette.

Day 3 Sunrise from resort
Helicopter Flight over Uluru/Ayers Rock extending the stunning views of Uluru offered in this amazing flight that gives a view of the conglomerate of rocks and the natural wonder that is best appreciated from the sky.
Self-guided tour through the Dessert Garden Hotel’s substantial and authentic native gardens.
Lunch at the resort
Uluru-Kata Juta,s one of Australia’s most popular natural destinations. It’s a wonderful park in the geographical heart of the country with countless rare and wonderful geological features Walpa gorge walk which is a 2.6km stroll that takes in a nice representative of the native wildlife and plants of the park and to view an amazing sunset.
Day 4 Sunrise at sunset viewing area (silhouette)
Breakfast in the Bough House Restaurant
Free day to relax by the pool or join Dean on another trip to the rock if
required and pick you up before camel ride.
Sunset Camel ride, another great way to explore the great Central Australian desert is from the back of a camel.
Outback BBQ Dinner.
Day 5 Breakfast in the Bough House Restaurant
Half-day work shop to view and discuss images taken in and around Uluru with Andrew Wilson (Tour Photographer) and guest U.S Photographers Jay P. Morgan and Jeff Cable in the Tjala Boardroom
Sounds of Silence Dinner – Dine under the stars with nothing but the beautiful expanse of desert and majestic Uluru for kilometers around.
Day 6 Breakfast in the Bough House Restaurant
Check out from your hotel and drive to Uluru Airport for flight to Sydney. Check In to the Rydges Hotel, Cronulla Sydney.
Sunset shoot Botany Bay Sans Souci.
Group dinner at Sea Level restaurant by the ocean.
Day 7 Sunrise shoot before breakfast at Zimzala South Cronulla Beach, then we take a short drive into the city of Sydney and check into our accommodation at the Holiday Inn The Rocks. Time to freshen up take a walk around the Rocks and foreshore.
After lunch we make our way to the Sydney Harbour Bridge for our Bridge Climb, then it’s “Welcome to Sydney” drinks at The Glenmore Hotel’s iconic Rooftop Bar – The Rocks.
After dinner we take a short walk to the Sydney Harbour that brims with light, and the best contemporary music artists in town take centre stage for Vivid LIVE.
Celebrating the most legendary and innovative voices in modern music, you can see the Sydney Opera House like never before under Lighting the Sails.
Day 8 Meet at the Quay
to catch a ferry to Kirribilli Wharf photograph iconic hardboard bridge and Opera House Walk along the harbour to Luna Park.
Walk through Luna Park and then walk along the foreshore to Wendy’s Secret Garden to Explore the gardens, Walk to Milsons Point Bridge and across Harbour Bridge Into the rocks.
Lunch at the Hero of Waterloo Hotel, ending in a ghost story and convict folklore.
Arrive at Dudley Park Reserve for an amazing sunset shoot prior to an Aussie BBQ.
Leisurely drive back to the hotel.
Day 9 On the road after breakfast to the Blue Mountains to meet with local award winning photographer Gary Hayes to photograph the beautiful Blue Mountains in all its colour and splendour.
Book into our hotel Best Western Motel Motor Inn.
Gary will take our group to these great locations Grose Valley lookout, two falls near Wentworth Falls, View Aboriginal art, Secret Pagoda Country location.
Sunset shoot Megalong Valley.
Dinner in the Blue Mountains.
Day 10 Sunrise Shoot – Jamison Valley before we drive back to Sydney and check into the Holiday Inn The Rocks before meeting up with the Aperture Club who shall guide you to great photographic locations around famous Bondi Beach.
After lunch the Apeture Club will take you on a walk to Bronte Beach for more photographic opportunities.
Walk from Bondi to Tamarama Beach.
Drive back to the hotel to refresh before a 2-hour aperture club workshop session to look at images taken by our guests with Q&A Dinner at the Old Fitzroy Hotel Woolloomooloo.
Day 11 Mystery – SUNRISE SHOOT
Breakfast back at the hotel.
We shall spend the day wandering around the Sydney Rocks Markets for a bit of shopping and photography.
Return to our accommodation to freshen up.
Meet in the foyer of our hotel and then enjoy a short walk to the King Street Wharf to board a Majestic Cruise where you can feast on a deluxe dinner buffet and choose from a premium selection of beverages. The sumptuous buffet features fresh seafood, a selection of hot and cold dishes, salads and desserts – all prepared to perfection. Enjoy a stroll on the outer decks and farewell Sydney.
Day 12 Breakfast at the Travel Lodge Wynyard, after breakfast you are FREE to walk around Sydney or just relax at your hotel prior to leaving for the airport for your flight home or to your next adventure.
