Scott Riley runs a historical academy that provides people with a first hand experience of what American Pioneers went through as they crossed the plains. He is a living historian portraying life in the eighteen hundreds. It was a lot of fun to shoot this biographical piece of him and his world. Hauling our equipment out on the trail had its challenges but proved to be well worth the trouble. There is so much production value in this piece with the location, actors and costuming. I was thrilled to work on this for Scott and his team. We shot this with the Canon 7D equipped with Tamron lenses and lit it with ikan LED battery powered lights. We used a Kessler crane and slider to get the camera to move in many of the shots. It was a great shoot.
