Photography and Video Trends from the Trenches for September

We are excited to be back with new photography and video Trends from the Trenches for the month of September. It’s still hot here in Los Angeles but Fall is on its way. We have a lot of great stuff to talk about today in both the world of video and the world of stills. There’s not a lot going on this month but there are some very important announcements.

News and Reviews:
There are a lot of great products that came out just recently that we will take a look at. We will compare the Canon 5DS R to the new Sony a7RII and look at how they compare for shooting stills (40 mega pixel vs 50 mega pixel). It should be interesting. We also have a sneak peak at a new product from Dynalite the Baja B6. It’s a 600 watt second lithium battery version of the very popular Baja B4. It’s 50% more powerful and still battery portable. It’s a great product and you will hear much more about it here. We are the first to show it. We have one and I am excited to use it. http://www.dynalite.com/
We will look at the Ninja Assassin from Atomos which was just released on September 1st. This is a great HD recorder that is light and affordable. I love mine. http://www.atomos.com/

Questions and Answers:
Lars and I will answer your questions in our Questions and Answers segment and see if we can help each of you with your personal concerns and questions. Dr. Jay P. and Lars are here with camera advice. We love your questions and look forward to them each month. This is my favorite section. Send images as well. We want to look at your images. Keep them coming.

Ken Talk:
What does Ken want to talk about. In this segment Ken will show us how to clean a camera sensor, something that is really good to know. Don’t use Windex, just good to know. Watch how Ken shows us.

Product Comparison:
In this segment we will look at how the Canon 5DS R compares for stills with the Sony A7r2. The Sony is a 40 megapixel sensor and the Canon is a 50 megapixel sensor. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic range and file size compares. I love the sensor of the A7r2 but love the ease of use of the Canon 5DS R. Take a look and see what you think.
