According to their specs here is the aperture breakdown: 28mm f/2.8, 50mm f/3.5, 100mm f/4.5, 150mm f/5.6, 200mm f/5.6.
It’s this style of lens, only 4.61” (117 mm) in length, so it is small. It’s a 67 mm filter diameter, so it is that same size diameter as all of the E mount Sony lenses they have done.
All of the Tamron lenses for Sony E-mount have great image quality. They come in a really compact size. That’s really important for me because the draw of mirrorless cameras is the size. And I feel like, especially with Sony, their G-master series are so big and heavy you kind of lose out on that advantage. So I appreciate that Tamron is producing these really small lenses that have a lot of flexibility. This lens fits right in with their other 67mm lenses (17-28mm f/2.8, 28-75mm f/2.8, 70-180mm f.2.8 and now 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6).
Because it is a native Sony lens it will be completely compatible with all of your eye tracking, eye focus, all of those things just as all the other E-mount lenses that Tamron has made. It is really made to integrate completely with your Sony camera. So you can say you heard this first on The Slanted Lens. (Well maybe someone else has said this.)
So check it out. The Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Sony E-mount lens. As soon as we get our hands on one we will do a review and get that into your hands.
