Hi, this is Jay P. Morgan. Today on The Slanted Lens we’re going to review a new stock service called GraphicStock. They reached out to us and asked us to review their site. They’re affiliated with VideoBlocks, which we have used for years, so I was happy to review their new stock service. GraphicStock is a subscription based site. There are over 300,000 graphics and photos, vectors, and it’s an unlimited download library. When you sign up for the service you can download as many of these images as you want. So let’s get started and see what we can do.
I need an image to put in a video we’re producing for a client. The video is an invitation to a motivational seminar that he’s doing. I need some kind of graphic to place underneath the time and place of the event. The seminar is about space and frequency and getting in touch with yourself. So I’ll look for an image that relates to that.
Over on GraphicStock I enter “space” in the search bar. I want stars, I want the milky way, I want something that looks interesting. When I type in “space” I get a look at not only just images but illustrations and vectors as well. There’s even a hot dog. A space in hot dog I guess. A hot dog in space. Anyway. I see different things that relate, like the space shuttle. You pay $99 a year for the service, and you can download as many images as you want. You have complete rights to the images that you’re using. You can use them in any of your commercial projects, for commercial application without any problems.
So I found an image that I like. It’s a great shot of the milky way and the earth, and I’m going to download it to my computer. Now I could do some other searches if I want to find something like stars, and I can download those also. Because when you pay the fee you can use as many images as you want. So I can download two or three of them and see if they work. If you’re working with clients this is a great service because you can show them three or four options and you’re not having to pay for every one of those images.
I’m going to have Kate now take this image and put it behind the title card for the information for my client’s seminar. It give us a nice background behind the type that we’re going to put in the title card. It’s a simple way to dress up your titles or to add extra images to your videos. You can do some fun things with them.
There are 300,000 images here. They’re royalty free, which means you have complete rights to them so you can use them in your commercial pieces and there’s no conflict whatsoever. GraphicStock has an introductory offer for seven days. You can download up to 140 files. You can sign up for their $99 a year plan, or you can test it out for seven days and download up to 140 images. See if it works for you.
So keep those cameras rollin’ and keep on clickin’.
