Hey Maria! Are you going after editorial work? Do you have a target list of magazines or art buyers?  Maria, great job starting your website! I am so excited for you. To improve your website and get more sales, we need your website to be more focused. Right now, I’m not sure what you’re selling to whom. At first, I thought you were doing editorial work. Then I saw you also do boudoir and portraits. On your bio it says, “Let me create memories for you and your family!” I’m not sure what you’re going after. It’d be better to have something focused with a couple images, then a lot of unfocused images. Focus on what you want to do and what you have–don’t worry about what you don’t have. By the end of this class, you portfolio will be more full. Let’s get what you DO have looking really great. So get back to me on what exactly you want to do. Thanks!!! And great job. I LOVE the pictures of the girls on the beach with the sunset.

Adelaide, Thank you for your comments. Right now I want to do portraits and boudoir. I was not going for editorial work. I do not have a target list of magazines or art buyers, but I would entertain the idea.

OK. So for now you want to go after portraits then? What pictures would help people know within a couple seconds what kind of portraits you do? Those are the pictures that need to be on your home page. You need to be building a non industry pro website. Use that checklist as you build your website. Let’s focus on your homepage today. First, don’t skip this, what kind of people like to work with you and buy your services? Fill this out on the worksheet. I need you to get 2 to 3 quotes, like how I mentioned in the presentation. I need you to brainstorm what questions people ask you a lot and what makes Maria different and unique for portraits?
