Platypod Camera Support Helpful in a Tight Spot
Sometimes shooting in small spaces can be a logistical challenge. You want the angle to be right, but you can’t see the back of the screen. So how do you know if your footage is coming out the way you want it to? How do you know if everything is in focus or leveled? By using the Platypod camera mount as well as a monitor, you can really spice up your images with unique looks – without hurting yourself in the process!
The Gear
The Platypod can hold your full-frame camera, which is great for getting into tight corners or small spaces and having the confidence to set the camera up securely. We also used a small monitor so we could judge our focus, framing, and make sure our composition was what we imagined. Some LED strip lights come in handy to stick them onto the walls of whatever tight space you’re shooting in to give that extra life to your image.
Camera Settings
The other part of this equation is your camera settings. Typically I set up my aperture around f/5.6 or f/6.3 to get more depth-of-field in my shot. Since you’re already focusing so close to your subject, that extra depth-of-field will help your subjects stay in focus.
