Let’s get started on 10 different ways that you can mount your phone using the 9.Solutions Smartphone Mount Kit.
#1 Rig Inside a Car
Rig a phone on the back of the car to show where you’ve been. There are multiple ways that you can get great footage while inside a car.
You can also do a vlogging situation as well by placing a suction cup on the front right side of the driver.
There is also another angle on the car using the GoPro that gives me a wide-angle view of inside the car, which just gives me a second angle to go to.
#2 Rig Overhead
What a great way to make a cooking style video with an overhead shot. This vantage point can be used a multitude of ways not just with a cooking demo. Just get it up over your talent and it’ll give you that secondary interesting POV.
#3 Rig C-Pan Arm
A really simple way to get a great slider or parallax shots is by mounting your phone onto a C-Pan Arm. You can get this setup by twisting the ¼ 20 that comes with your C-Pan Arm into the bottom of your phone bracket. This gives you high production value for a quick and easy shot.
#4 Rig to Bicycle
We have 3 different camera angles for this bicycle scene. Our first shot is using the GoPro Mounting Kit here to set up for this bike POV shot, where we used a GoPro mounting kit for 3/8inch pipes to gig clamps. The second angle is from the back wheel of the bike, with the GoPro mount and a savior clamp. Next, we have a bike handlebar mount that provides an overhead selfie angle of our model as she rides her bike.
#5 Rig for Time Lapse
Using a Savior Clamp, to clamp to a pole to give you a time-lapse shot is one of the hundreds of angles that you can use. Having this clamp gives you the ability to clamp it into different places and get your phone out to film what you want to see.
#6 Rig to a Helmet
For this setup, we used a 3/8inch clamp with a 3/8inch rod to a 3/8 gag. Then we connected that to a quick mount release and attached the phone mount with an elbow. It sits right in front of his eyes, so we get his POV as he skates around the park.We used the Helmet Cam for a skateboarder, but you can use this with just about anybody! A waiter carrying a tray, a dentist working on someone’s teeth. This gives you an insightful look at your subject’s POV as they go about their work.
#7 Rig to Skateboard
Mounting to an inanimate object is an interesting, angle because it makes you feel as if you are a part of the experience. By mounting the GoPro to the skateboard we can get all the action and excitement of the shot. This low to the ground shot gives you a variety to your shots that most people aren’t used to seeing. The great part is that you can use this trick with many different objects to get a dynamic, yet intimate close up perspective of the scene.
#8 Rig to a Hand Tool
Rig your phone to an ax and automatically you see life go by at a different speed in a different way. This can be replicated with attaching it to a broom, or any other hand-held object. Just because you attach your phone to an inanimate object doesn’t mean it just has to roll, you can attach it something that is moved by yourself as well. It’s part of the motion that’s happening in the scene and gives a more startling eerie atmosphere to your shot.
#9 Rig to Bottle
You can mount to a bottle by using the Savior Clamp! A wine bottle, a soda bottle, you can do this with just almost anything round to get a more intimate shot of what’s happening.
#10 Rig to Backboard
Attaching our mount to a backboard, just shows how easy and quick it is to get the camera onto a position we normally can get it in. This shot is just an effective, easy to setup POV that generates another layer of storytelling.
