REVEIW: Vanguard Alta Fly 55T

April 10, 2018 By Morgan Leave a Comment

A New Way to Travel

Vanguard just released a new bag called the Alta Fly 55T. This is in their travel bag line and is carry-on approved!! It’s a great option for those of you who are flying to a shoot and want to keep your valuables close.

Let’s dive into it!

Carry-On Compatible

The Vanguard Alta Fly 55T has some great features that work well with your on-the-go life. This follows in their line of Alta Fly bags that have the traveler in mind.

The four-wheel carriage makes it easy to transport when you’re going to and from your gates and minimizes the weight you have to carry on your arm. This reduces fatigue and keeps your belongings in an upright position.

Ease of Use

There is also a side handle, great for those times when you’ll have to hitch the bag above your head. It’s an easy access point and a sturdy strap. It would also be helpful when going up an escalator.

The Vanguard Alta Fly 55T has a dedicated laptop pouch and a customizable camera insert bag that lets you fit two cameras and four lenses, or one camera and six lenses. There’s also a holster for your tripod. We use it for our Alta Pro 2+ tripod, but almost all travel tripods will fit in this slot.

The front pockets have sections for your memory cards and are a great way to keep track of cards that are clean and ones to format later. The bag also includes a rain cover and lock! What a bonus!

Airport to Field-Use

The 55T can be transformed into a backpack with the simple attachment of the backpack straps on the D ring located near the wheels of the bag. There’s also a pouch on the left and right sides that house an adjustable hip belt and wheel covers, so when you’re traveling the dirty wheels doesn’t touch your back.

Those are just some of the main features of the bag. We think the 55T expands the Vanguard line and this compact form-factor will be useful to a lot of people.

Pick up yours today!
